As this is my first post, I thought I’d give my readers some details about why I am writing this blog.
First off, I’ll be writing primarily about my journey with lifting however I may write a bit about nutrition, mental health, sleep, family, and maybe more.
Who knows when you’re reading this, but I’m writing this in August of 2019. So, hello from the past future people! Right now I have been seriously lifting for about 6 months, but have been dabbling in different forms of exercise for the past 5-6 years. Once I started lifting seriously, I started learning more and more about the science behind what was working, what was not, and why. I don’t, and probably won’t, ever claim to be an expert. I study the subject more than the normal gym goer, and that’s as much as I’ll admit to.
I’m curious by nature, and constantly question everything in my life. Once I start digging in deep on a topic, I can’t help but talk about it. This is my answer to my wife, whom I love, who I’m sure I’ve been annoying with my constant talk about lifting. This is for you hun!
I also want to hear more from people on their experience with picking up heavy things. Many people join gyms, but who has the time for that. I work out in my basement. While I enjoy the time alone, there isn’t any community in that.
Join me on my ever increasing pursuit to pick up heavier and heavier things. If you’d like to receive my hopefully weekly posts and have a reminder to join the conversation, jump on that email list and I’ll send you my posts.
